Most people start out in business because of one of the following three statements:
- “My boss isn’t paying me enough and I’m sure I could earn more doing it myself”.
- “I want a change of lifestyle. I want to be able to spend more time with family or helping out in the Community in my time”.
- “I’m sure I won’t have to work as hard and I can go and play golf more”
For those of us who have been in business a while we all know that these 3 statements are not always true and that it can be really hard to get the right balance between work and play.
If we work too hard and don’t set time aside for family, friends and relaxation then life can become a drain and a bore.
If we work too little and play too much then we don’t earn enough money to be able to do those things in life we want to do.
There is a fine line between working too hard and playing too much. For each person it is a different place and it’s up to you to find that equilibrium.

My Accounting Practice employs “Down to Earth” people who are here to help take the stress out of number crunching. Most people hate to do GST Returns and balance the books because that part just isn’t their speciality. Even if you have a computerised package like Xero or MYOB it doesn’t mean you enjoy doing it or will get it correct every time. We are not your normal “stuffy bean counter” sitting behind the desk staring at you making you feel guilty. We like to work on relationships and we want to take the hassle away from you by working alongside of you. We want to take the stress away from you hopefully freeing up your time and allowing you to spend more time doing the things you would rather be doing. This doesn’t have to cost you more because doing it right the first time is better and cheaper than coming in behind and fixing it up. Helping you along the way rather than being the Ambulance at the bottom of the cliff is our favourite saying.
